Firearm FAQ

Sellers:

How do I sell a gun:

Stop by the Auction Center Monday- Friday from 9am-4pm to have your gun checked in for our next consignment auction! At time of check in you will go over any details you would like listed for each item with one of our employees while filling out and signing your contract. That’s it! We will take it from there.

Do I need to bring a gun to you to sell it:

Yes, all firearms must be in Aumann Auction, Inc. possession at the time of the sale per ATF guidelines.

Are there fees to selling a gun:

Yes, all firearms are subject to a commission rate of 10%. All ammo, accessories, etc are 15% commission. This is per lot.

What other items do you accept:

We accept ammo, accessories such as scopes, lasers, cases, magazines, etc.

What items do you NOT accept:

Currently, we are not accepting any reloading material or reloading accessories.

What happens after my guns are checked in and dropped of:

We secure all firearms into our walk in safe immediately. Once all firearms are on-site for each seasonal sale, all items are taken out of the safe, given a lot number, photographed, and gone over for description. After all photographing and descriptions are complete, they are listed on our website and bidding opens.

How do I know which lots are my items:

Once all items are cataloged, the auction manager or a member from our firearm staff will reach out to you via phone or email with a list of all your lot numbers. It is at this point we suggest you go over the listings and notify us of any changes you would like on your items.

Can I put a reserve on a firearm:

Per the contract all items sell absolute. If you as a seller feel the need to protect your item by bidding on it and win, you are subject to pay commission and buyers premium on the sold item. Aumann Auction, Inc. will not place a reserve, protect, or bid on any of your items for you.

How long does it take to get paid:

Per contract terms, a check will be cut to all sellers in 20 business days or sooner from the end of an auction. This check is mailed to the address listed on the contract

Buyers:

What is extend all bidding:

Any bid placed within the final 5 minutes of an auction results in the auction automatically extending 5 additional minutes. The bidding will extend in 5-minute increments from the time the last bid is placed until there are no more bids, and the lot sits idle for 5 minutes. Therefore, the auction will not close until all bidding parties are satisfied, and no one can be outbid at the last seconds without having another opportunity to bid again.

Is there a buyer’s premium and how much is it:

All firearm/ammo sales are subject to a 10% buyer’s premium.

Who can purchase a firearm:
