About the Owner - Daniel Adams of Woodstock, IL

Dan Adams’ passion for collecting cars began in his youth and has never ceased. Dan vividly remembers the classic autos his older brothers drove, and how he dreamt of buying one of his own. In fact, even before he had a drivers’ license, Dan began buying and selling cars—something unimaginable in current times.

At age 11, one particular car really pulled on Dan’s heart strings: a 1951 Mercury Luxor Maroon that his 18-year-old brother, Rich, bought brand new. He recalls how the over-chromed grill encircled the front bumper, wrapped around the fenders, and incorporated the park and turn signal lights. This Mercury had cool rear fin fenders and chapel chrome tail light bezels. In essence, it had everything - length, lines and class. When Rich left home to join the Air Force in 1956, he sold Dan the car. For serious car collectors, you never forget that first obsession.

Life fast forwarded. After graduation, Dan went into business with his brother, and he married his high school sweetheart. He later founded a metal fabrication company that successfully grew under his leadership for over 30 years.

Over the years, Dan has bought and sold more than 300 antique cars. He has become a consulted expert and admired collector in the antique automobile community. And now, as Dan and his wife enjoy their retirement years, they find themselves traveling more and spending nearly half of the year at their second home. They both agree that it is time to “streamline” life and bring to auction this fine collection. They invite everyone to inspect and bid on a vast number of collectible cars, toys, tractors, signs and more. “We can't wait for other people to enjoy these treasures as much as we have.”

Great collection of Fuel Pumps.
